Andolini's Pizza

Andolini's is another Pizza Joint worth visiting.  Set up like Dano's you walk in, order your food, grab a number, and wait for them to bring the pizza to you.  They have everything too, great pizzas, calzones, strombolis, and salads.  They also serve beer for those of you who enjoy a brew with your za. Their location on Folly road on James Island is perfect, they have a nice patio to sit and catch the ocean breeze.  Great place to stop after a visit to follow.  www.andolinis.com

Grouchos Deli

Groucho's started out small all the way back in 1941 by Harold "groucho" Miller, but are now found all over the state of South Carolina and they have some of the best melt's you may ever get your mouth on.  With a huge hunk of meat, cheese, and a side of their famous 45 sauce, their sandwiches could make you a deli addict.  Original recipes, fresh meat, and homemade bread.  They have a bunch of locations throughout the state so check their website for the one nearest you.http://www.grouchos.com/

Polks BBQ

Polks BBQ will always be my favorite place to get BBQ in South Carolina.  Probably because i grew up on it, i remember playing around with the giant penny banks or whatever they are while we were waiting on our food.  They only have weird hours so I'd call before I made the long drive but its definately worth it.

Dano's Pizza

Dano's pizza is probably a little better than The House of Pizza's za, but since it's located on Rosewood ave in Columbia.  House has nothing to worry about.  There's beer on tap and flatscreen tvs, the perfect place to go ad relax.  And lately for lunch they have been doing a two slices of pizza's and a drink for only 3.99.  And they're huge slices.  They also serve calzones, strombolighs, pasta and salads.  Drop by and check them out it you're close

Docs BBq

Docs  BBQ has an impressive selection on their buffet, and it definitely worth checking out if you are hungry.  Dieters beware, their food is extremely good and you will be tempted to go back for seconds.  They have two types of bbq, sweet and pepper vinegar, along with catfish stew, chicken wings, fried catfish nuggets, fried chicken, turkey bbq, and smoke chicken.  And those are only the meats.  As far as sides go if you want it there's a good chance its there.  Macaroni, beans, greens, and watermelon are just a few and they also serve banana pudding and peach cobbler different days of the week.  They food is hot and fresh going perfect with a glass of sweet tea or lemonade.  Check them out if you're around the fairgrounds side of Columbia.  http://www.docsbarbeque.com/  1601 Shop Road in Columbia, SC • Tel: 803.799.1532

Crosby's Seafood

Crosby's Seafood isn't a restaurant like I normally post but is a great place to get some of the best fresh seafood in Charleston at a great low price. Fresh fish and shrimp come in daily when in season and they always have cheaper prices than the local grocery stores in the area-I should know we went there quite a bit. Oysters, Shrimp, Scallops, Mahi, Tuna, Snapper, Red Drum, Flounder...etc. 2223 Folly Road James Island, SC or downtown 382 Spring St Charleston, SC 29403 (843) 937-0029

Kicken Chicken

The Kicken Chicken is one of my favorite places to eat in Charleston. They have the best hand breaded chicken fingers, wings, chicken sandwiches in all of Charleston in my opinion. To add to that their sauces are also on the top of the list and their home-made ranch sauce is some of the best I've ever eaten. They also have amazing salads for those of ya'll who like the lighter dishes. Entertainment at KC is also great as they always have bands over the weekend and weekly food and bev specials throughout the week. It's a great place to stop if you're heading to Folly Beach. 1175 Folly Rd James Island, SC 29412 (843) 225-6996. http://www.thekickinchicken.com/

Blarney Stone Irish Pub

The Blarney Stone is located downtown Walterboro and is a great place for dinner or lunch and maybe the ocassional draught. I haven't been able to catch thier dinner menu but I've been quite a few times for lunch and everytime we had one of their delicious soups or sandwiches. 256 East Washington Street Walterboro SC. 29488 843) 782-4774

Mustard Seed, James Island

The Mustard Seed right off of Maybank on James Island is a wonderful place to eat dinner, however if you aren't very adventurous this place may not be for you. The food covers a wide mix different ethnic dishes: Asian, French, Mexican, Island, and Southern American. My last visit has been a while but I had their grilled tuna over bean sprouts and lettuce. It was amazing, definatly some of the best tuna I've ever eaten and now I'm a huge fan of bean sprouts. The food is a little pricey but worth every penny. 1970 Maybank Highway, Charleston, SC 29412 (843) 762-0072 http://www.dinewithsal.com/. The website also has some of the owner's other restuarants in the Charleston area, all of which I've heard high reviews from.

Virginias on King

Virginia's on King St. in Charleston SC, is a unique take on Southern style or Grandma's kitchen food. Placed on King it is High-end Southern cuisine, basic fancy fried chicken or blackened catfish with all the home fixings served in a fine dinning atmosphere. It may be little pricy but Virginia's uses the best fresh ingriedients and their food has definately all been hand prepared. I recommend you check them out for lunch, but you may want to call ahead for directions because the dinning room isn't very big and fills up fast. 412 King Street Historic Downtown Charleston One Block from Marion Square. 843.735.5800 www.virginiasonking.com

Dukes BBQ

Dukes BBQ in Walterboro, SC has some of the best BBQ around. It's served in a cafeteria style dinning atmosphere and has tons of room for bringing the whole family. My grandparents really like it because the give out a seniors discount that takes the price they pay down to six bucks. For not too much more you can get a full, all you can eat buffet with all of the fixings to go along with it. Mama may make better food at Holiday's but anytime I have a home-grown food craving I know exactly where to go.

Johnson Creek Tavern

If you have ever been to Hunting Island or Fripp Island you have probably at least seen and surely passed Johnson Creek Tavern. Off on the left of Hwy 21 overlooking the marsh its the perfect spot for a relaxing dinner or drink. The building has been added onto multiple times and has a real authentic beach bum vibe. Dollar bills cover the walls with signatures of what seems like everyone that has ever been in the place. There must be a thousand dollars covering the walls. The building may be raw but the food is delicious. Their seafood Alfredo with scallops and shrimp was some of the best I've ever had. Not only is the food great but there is always a band playing on the weekends over the summer, making it just the right place for a cold brew. 2141 Sea Island Parkway Harbor Island, SC 29920

Fat Hen

The "Fat Hen" is lowcountry/Huguenot themed restaurant hidden on Johns Island South Carolina. My favorite entree is their shrimp and pasta....best sauce I've ever had. It isn't a short drive (maybe 15 minutes) from downtown Charleston but is well worth the drive. Driving directions, menus, and store times are on their website. www.thefathen.com

Beezers

If your in a hungry for a sub in the Columbia area check out Beezers Gourmet Deli at 919 Sumter St Ste B Columbia, SC 29201. They are super fast and open late and deliver until 4am and have very reasonable prices. My favorite sub they serve is the double delight-ham and turkey with the works on fresh baked bread. It doesn't get any better, faster, or cheaper. Beezers on Google
